A small male Clownfish named 'Orange' was born into the vast and seemingly endless ocean. His parents and siblings warned him of the dangers that lurked in the deep, dark waters - of the massive whales that could swallow him whole of the ferocious sharks that could tear him to pieces. But Orange as small a fish as he was, was not deterred.
Orange was fascinated by the ocean and all its mysteries, and he was determined to one day rule over it even though the starfish laughed at him as he swam. As he grew older, Orange explored every inch of the ocean, learning all he could about its inhabitants and how they interacted with one another. He would visit the wise old eel in the rocks. He listened to the stories of the old fish, of battles won and lost, of heroic feats and tragic failures of the octopus. He observed the dynamics between the different species, and he formed his own opinions on what it would take to be a successful leader of the ocean.
Eventually, Orange realised that he wanted to be the king of the ocean. But he knew that he could not achieve this goal on his own - he would need the support of others. He began to build relationships with the other fish, forming alliances and earning their trust. Orange formed an alliance with the whales and a reliable communications team with the deep-sea turtles and sea lions. He proved himself to be a competent and capable leader, and soon enough, he was crowned the ‘king of the ocean’.
Orange had achieved what he set out to do, but he knew that his work was not done. He had to continue to be a strong and wise leader, to keep his kingdom underwater safe and prosperous. And he had to always be on the lookout for new challenges and dangers, to protect his subjects from harm. Orange had become the king of the ocean, and he was determined to rule it well and with wisdom.
If you want to be the king of your ocean too whether it is large or small, you need to know how to take care of yourself and the team. Have a sense of leadership and the courage to take a fresh new direction when it is called for even if you feel you are out of your comfort zone. Promote in your team good health, happiness and personal well-being and inspire others to do the same. Others will mirror your actions. Show your leadership by being an active, motivated and vocal leader in your chosen field of expertise. With these tips, like Orange, you can be the king of your ocean too!
