“Self-validation is the process of affirming your own worthiness” stated psychologist and author Sherrie Campbell. In other words, she is saying that it’s the recognition and acceptance of your own thoughts, feelings, and experiences as being valid. It’s about giving yourself permission to be exactly who you are—flaws and all. If you’re looking for a little self-love and encouragement, then I urge you to read on. The following six self-validating statements are statements that you should say to yourself and believe in with all your heart when it comes to self-validating yourself regardless of what negative statements others say to you or about you.
This is perhaps the most important self-validating statement of them all. It’s a declaration of self-worth that tells the world (and yourself) that you are enough—exactly as you are. Whenever you find yourself doubting your abilities or questioning your worthiness, remind yourself that you are enough.
Your value doesn't come from what you achieve or fail to achieve. It doesn't come from what other people think of you. You are valuable simply because you exist. You are worthy of love and respect, just as you are. You always have been and always will be.
We all make mistakes. It's part of being human. But too often, we dwell on our mistakes and allow them to define us. We beat ourselves up and tell ourselves that we're not good enough. We believe that our mistakes are a reflection of our worth as a person. But that is simply not true. Our mistakes do not determine our worth; we do so ourselves.
So instead of beating yourself up, try telling yourself these five words: "I am not my mistakes." It's a simple phrase, but it can be incredibly powerful. It can help you to accept yourself, even when you've made a mistake. It can help you to move on and to learn from your mistakes. And it can remind you that you are more than your mistakes; you are a worthy and deserving person, no matter what.
We all make mistakes—it’s an inevitable part of life. But our mistakes do not define us; they are simply lessons we learn along the way. Instead of beating yourself up over your past errors, use them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement. And next time, try not to make the same mistake twice!
No matter how weak or vulnerable you may feel at times, know that you have an inner strength that will see you through any challenge or adversity you face in life. Draw on that strength when things get tough; it will never let you down. Remember, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger!
In good times and bad, remind yourself that you are never truly alone—there is always someone who loves and cares for you (even if it’s just your furry best friend). If you ever feel lost or alone in this big wide world, reach out to your support network for guidance and comfort—they’ll be there for you, just like you’ll be there for them when they need it most.
Last but not least, remind yourself regularly that you have limitless potential—the sky really is the limit! Whether your dreams are big or small, know that you have what it takes to make them a reality. After all, if others have done it before, why can’t you do it too? So go out there and achieve greatness!
If negative self-talk or negativity around you is holding you back from living your best life, it’s time for some self-love and encouragement! By reading and believing these six self-validating statements, you can start building up your confidence today so that tomorrow feels a little bit brighter. By doing this on a regular basis you will start to find that your environment slowly changes and that those you are socially around change as well. You will become more positive and empowered in doing so. Remember, you are enough… Always!
