Each of the seven chakras in the human body are energy centre's within the body itself and they are all responsible for our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. When all of the seven chakras are in alignment, we are able to live our lives to the fullest potential. However, when any one of the seven chakras are out of balance, we may experience physical, mental, or emotional issues. In this situation crystals can be used to help balance the chakras and promote healing in a holistic manner.

The Seven Chakra Centre's of the Human Body

Crystals are powerful tools that can help to heal and balance our chakras. Each chakra has a different associated crystal, and when these crystals are placed on the corresponding chakra, they can help to bring balance and harmony.

These are the seven main chakras showing one associated main crystal for each that bring balance and alignment. There are numerous crystals that can be used on each chakra, but these are the main ones that are used for anyone beginning this type of holistic healing:

Crown Chakra – Clear Quartz (wisdom and spirituality)

The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head and is associated with our connection to Spirit. Clear Quartz is a crystal that can clear any blockages in the crown chakra as well as help promote mental clarity, focus and concentration. It also amplifies energy and enhances spiritual connection and clarity.

Third Eye (Brow) Chakra – Amethyst (inspiration and intuition)

The Third Eye Chakra is located between the eyebrows and is associated with our ability to see clearly. Lapis Lazuli is a crystal that can help to open the third eye chakra and increase our ability to see clearly. It can also help to increase our intuition and psychic ability.

Throat Chakra – Sodalite (communication and creativity)

The Throat Chakra is located in the centre of the throat and is associated with our ability to communicate. Turquoise is a crystal that can help to open the throat chakra and increase our ability to communicate our thoughts and feelings. It can also help to ease anxiety and stress.

Heart Chakra – Rose Quartz (love and compassion)

The Heart Chakra is located in the centre of the chest and is associated with our ability to love and be loved. Rose Quartz is a crystal that is known as the “love stone.” It can help to open the heart chakra and increase our ability to give and receive love.

Solar Plexus Chakra – Citrine (energy and purpose)

The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the belly button and is associated with our personal power and will. Tigers Eye is a crystal that can help to increase our personal power and confidence. It can also help to increase our ability to take action and make decisions.

Sacral Chakra – Carnelian (emotions and confidence)

The Sacral Chakra is located just below the belly button and is associated with our creativity and sexuality. Citrine is a crystal that can help to increase our creativity and vitality. It can also help to increase our self-confidence and self-esteem.

Root Chakra – Black Onyx (grounding and protection)

The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine and is associated with our feeling of safety and security. Garnet is a powerful crystal that can help to ground and stabilize us. It can also help to increase our sense of courage and strength.

Once you get accustomed to using the main crystals to heal your chakra centre's as noted above, there are a number of different crystals that can be used to heal the chakras. Some of the most popular crystals for chakra healing used by holistic healers are amethyst, turquoise, crazy lace agate, green aventurine, tigers eye, carnelian, blue lapis and red jasper.
